AI receptionist comparison 2026
As of 5 November 2026, the French and Belgian AI receptionists compared start between €49 and €89 a month. US vendors start between US$45 and US$150. The real difference is what the plan includes: minutes, calls or callers, live transfer to a human, and where data is hosted. VocalReception offers €79/month with 400 minutes included, then €0.25 per started minute. Its difference: our team sets up and tests your receptionist. Above roughly 500 minutes, some self-serve bundles can cost less: compare the total at your volume.

How it is calculated
Every value was read on the vendor’s own pricing page on 5 November 2026. We only show what is published. “n/a” means the vendor does not say, not that the feature is missing. Spotted a change? Email hello@vocalreception.com and we will correct it.
Formula
Price in € for the filter = price in $ ÷ 1.1267 (ECB reference rate of 4 November 2026)
Assumptions
- Entry price = cheapest public plan with monthly billing, no annual commitment.
- Prices exclude VAT when the vendor says so. Volubile and the US vendors do not state VAT.
- Dollar prices are shown in dollars. The conversion is used only for the max-price filter.
- Billing units differ: per minute for most, per call at Smith.ai, per unique caller at Goodcall, per seat at Allo. A lower entry price is not always a lower bill: compare with your call volume.
- Features describe the entry plan. Rosie offers live transfer on a higher plan. AlloBob does not include CRM integration on its entry plan.
- EU hosting: “yes” only when the vendor states it explicitly. A generic “GDPR compliant” claim stays “n/a”.
- Languages: codes are shown when the vendor names its languages, otherwise the stated number. The language filter excludes vendors that do not name their languages, because we cannot verify them.
- Country = the vendor’s headquarters or home market.
- Not included: Eliocall, site unreachable at check time, prices could not be verified.
- VocalReception publishes this site. Its data comes from its public price list, under the same rule as every other vendor.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an AI receptionist cost in 2026?
Public entry plans range from €49 to €89 a month for the French and Belgian vendors compared, and from US$45 to US$150 for US vendors. Also check what the plan includes and the overage price: that is what drives the bill.
Per minute, per call or per caller billing: which is better?
Per minute, check rounding: VocalReception bills each started minute, after the 400 included minutes. Short calls can therefore be rounded up to the next minute. Per call, every call counts, even a brief one. Per unique caller, repeat calls from the same person cost nothing extra. Estimate your monthly calls and their length, then price each plan.
Can an AI receptionist transfer the call to a person?
Yes, most vendors compared transfer calls on their entry plan. Some keep it for a higher plan. Also check the transfer hours and what happens when nobody picks up.
Why does EU data hosting matter?
A call holds personal data: name, number, reason for calling, sometimes a recording. Hosting in the European Union makes GDPR compliance simpler. If the vendor does not say, ask in writing where calls and transcripts are stored. VocalReception hosts data in the EU, keeps no audio and retains text transcripts for about one month to produce the monthly report, then deletes them.
Stop letting calls go unanswered
€79/month with 400 minutes included. VocalReception is set up and tested for you. No commitment, 30-day money-back on the first month’s plan fee, excluding setup.
